ISRAEL: Home of the greatest milk-producing cows in the world

... with or without air-conditioning

by Teddy Chadwick

Jerusalem:

The Jerusalem Post has an article on page 5 which states that the cows suffer from the heat in Israel if their genetic origin is from Europe, reducing their birth rates and milk output. So, there's a new government program to install fans and rain simulators (errmm, sprinklers! Yes, that's the word) inside the cow sheds. The program has proven successful, and the cows now yield 10% more milk than previously during the summer months. That's in addition to ALREADY being the biggest milk-producers in the world.

Dr. Yisrael Flemenbaum is quoted as saying that a 10% increase amounts to tens of millions more liters of milk.

As the LORD said in Leviticus: "But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I [am] the LORD your God, which have separated you from [other] people."
Lev 20:24
