On Patrol in Jerusalem
with the Police Civil Guard

Jerusalem:

Earlier this evening, I hit the pavement again with my partner, on patrol with the "Mishmar Ezrachi," otherwise known as the Civil Guard of the Jerusalem Police. What we do is tour the assigned area, looking for suspicious people or objects, carry the rifle firearm, as well as a radio to keep in contact with the base. I had to undergo basic weapons training to be licensed to carry the weapon, however my license is only good for while I'm on duty.

I felt the LORD leading me to volunteer for this service back around January, and I had an open door. Since then I've been doing patrol about once a week unless I'm traveling out of the country. It's been a great way to help out with the safety of the city of Jerusalem while forming bonds of friendship of those with whom I serve.

Tonight after duty I stepped into a cafe with one of my patrol buddies and we shared nana-mint flavored lemonades with dessert as we got caught up on what's going on, what's new in our lives, prophecies of Zechariah regarding the nations (like Iran) eventually surrounding Israel as if to destroy her, etc., etc., basic conversation material. Of course my thoughts on the matter have to do with waiting on the LORD to see what kind of action He will take to preserve His Land.

It's interesting. One of the Scriptures the LORD gave me as I was fasting and praying during the 14 months before coming to Israel, was from Isaiah:

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isa 62:6-7


Now, for the past 2 years, thanks to the many, many miracles and great favors of the Almighty, I've been established here to worship, pray, and be a "watchman on the walls" of Jerusalem, "keeping not silence," and trusting in the LORD to "make Jerusalem a praise in the earth."

What this patrol service does is give me an opportunity and authority to spiritually and prophetically "walk out" these prayers and these scriptures, and physically and spiritually "build up the walls" and the protection of Jerusalem:

And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls... Isa 60:10

Someone recently told me that in this duty, I'm moving in the "parabolic prophetic" area. Of course, there have been many others before me and even now who have been literally building up the walls... thru activities like feeding and clothing the poor, financing village building projects, etc.

The nations are right now being called by the LORD to bless, build, and help restore Israel. This restoration process belongs to the LORD - won't you come into agreement with what the Almighty is doing?

...for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. Isa 60:10b

The time of Israel being forsaken is now over:

Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through [thee], I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. Isa 60:15

Nations that refuse to participate in the LORD's rebuilding and restoration of Zion will have to answer to the LORD Himself:

For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, [those] nations shall be utterly wasted. Isa 60:12

Obviously, Isaiah is not the only place you can find such passages; Start with Genesis 12:3 and move on from there, including Amos 9, Acts 15:16, etc.

Thank you for keeping me in prayer as I walk out everything the LORD has for me to do here in Jerusalem. You may pray for my safety (physical, emotional, spiritual), pray that the Song of the LORD comes forth from my heart, pray that the current CD recording carries the anointing of the Holy Spirit, pray for financial provision as I carry onward with these projects.

Also, please pray for next year's 2007 Jerusalem Summit Africa to be more successful than this summer's Summit in Cape Town.

It's amazing what the LORD did at the firing range!
